Based on the official notification released by the West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC), the application process for the recruitment of 8,477 non-teaching Group C and D posts begins on September 16, 2025. The recruitment drive aims to fill vacancies for Clerk and Librarian posts under Group C, and Staff posts under Group D, in government-aided schools across West Bengal.

2. Click on the “Apply Now” link for the “Group C & D Recruitment 2025”.
3. Register by providing a valid email ID and mobile number, which must remain active throughout the recruitment process.
4. Log in with your new credentials and fill out the online application form with personal, educational, and other required details.
5. Upload scanned copies of your photograph and signature in the specified format (typically .JPG format, within a certain size range like 30 KB – 60 KB).
6. Pay the non-refundable application fee online using a debit card, credit card, net banking, or UPI.
7. Submit the form and take a printout of the confirmation for future reference.

A total of 8,477 non-teaching posts are being recruited.

• Group C (Clerk, Librarian, etc.): 2,989 posts
• Group D (Staff): 5,488 posts

Eligibility criteria

Age limit:

• Minimum Age: 18 years
• Maximum Age: 40 years, as of January 1, 2025
• Age Relaxation: Permitted for reserved categories according to West Bengal government rules.

Educational qualification:

• Group C (Clerk/Librarian):
  • Clerk: Passed Madhyamik (School Final) or its equivalent from a recognized board like WBBSE.
  • Librarian: A graduate degree is required.
• Group D (Staff): Passed Class VIII from a recognized school.

Selection process

The selection will be based on a State Level Selection Test, which includes a written examination, followed by an interview and skill tests where applicable.

Group C:

• Written Exam (OMR-based): 60 marks
• Oral Interview: 10 marks
• Academic Qualification and Experience: 15 marks
• Typing and Computer Proficiency Test: 15 marks

Group D:

• Written Exam (OMR-based): 40 marks
• Oral Interview: 5 marks
• Experience (Similar Job): 5 marks

Exam syllabus

Group C Exam Syllabus:

• General Knowledge and Current Affairs: 60 questions, 60 marks, 1 hour.
• General English: 60 questions, 60 marks, 1 hour.
• Arithmetic: 60 questions, 60 marks, 1 hour.
• Reasoning: 60 questions, 60 marks, 1 hour.

Group D Exam Syllabus:
