About: Government Excellence Scholarships
The Swiss Confederation has a program called the Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships. This is to encourage scientific collaboration and international exchange between Switzerland and more than 180 nations.

The Federal Commission for Scholarships for Foreign Students (FCS) oversees them. And target young scholars, artists, and international postgraduate researchers who wish to pursue further education or research in Switzerland.
Who Can Apply?
Heres is the following criteria to apply:
- You hold a master’s degree (research or PhD) or a PhD (postdoc).
- You were born after December 31, 1990 (for PhD applicants) or December 31, 1980 (for postdoctoral applicants).
- You have a confirmed academic supervisor in Switzerland.
When and How to Apply
Applications will open in August 2025. The exact deadline varies by country. However, most close between late October and mid-December 2025.You must submit your application to the Swiss embassy or consulate in your country.

- A filled-out application form.
- Your CV
- A motivation letter explaining why you want to study in Switzerland.
- A detailed research proposal.
- Two recommendation letters from professors in your country.
- A letter of support and short CV from your Swiss supervisor.
