In order to support the families with the current rising cost, the Government is planning to support families, carers, pensioners, and others who need a bit more help right now. People receiving social aid across Ireland are due to receive additional cash payments totaling more than €400 in 2025. These one-time boosts or bonuses will be applied to a total of 20 distinct welfare payments. Making life a little simpler at a time when costs and prices continue to rise. Who Will Get the Extra €400?
The government is doing this in order to tackle the following problem. Each of these groups will receive an additional €400 payment at different periods throughout 2025. This is a one-time bump, so it does not occur every month, but it provides a nice cushion when it does.

- Disability Allowance
- Blind Pension
- Invalidity Pension
- Carer’s Support Grant
- Working Family Payment
Other top-up payments
Some other payments are also getting smaller top-ups are:
- Fuel Allowance beneficiaries will receive an additional €300 to help cover energy bills.
- People receiving the Living Alone Increase. For example, older adults who live alone will receive an extra €200.
- Parents receiving Child Benefit will receive double payments in November and December, totaling €280 per child.
- There is also a €100 payment per child for families receiving the Child Support Payment (also known as Increase for a Qualified Child).
- New parents will receive a €280 Newborn Bonus if their child is born on or after December 1, 2024.
