About: Faculty for the Future Fellowships 2026/2027

The Schlumberger Foundation offers Faculty for the Future Fellowships in 2026/2027. Who can apply?

  • You are a woman from a developing or emerging nation, where women remain underrepresented in STEM. Dual nationals from developed countries are not eligible.
  • You are pursuing or want to pursue a Ph.D. or postdoctoral degree in a STEM subject. Master’s programs are unfunded.
  • You are currently enrolled, accepted, or have applied to a host university overseas.
  • You have a solid academic record.
  • You want to return to your native country after completing your studies to contribute by teaching, doing research, launching scientific initiatives, or shaping science-based policy.
  • You demonstrate leadership and community involvement and have pushed women to participate in STEM.
  • You are not a Schlumberger employee.

How to apply?

  • Starting September 1, 2025, you can visit the official Faculty for the Future webpage.
  • Register and complete your profile.
  • Fill out the application form carefully, including all needed information.
  • Upload your papers.
  • Submit by November 7, 2025, at 12:00 CST (UTC-6).
  • Reference letters must be uploaded by November 14, 2025.
  • If successful, you should expect to hear back in March-April 2026.

What the Fellowship Covers

  • Grants of up to USD 50,000 per year for Ph.D. programs and up to USD 40,000 for post-doctoral study.
  • Tuition, housing, health insurance, travel, visa fees, and other academic expenses are all covered.
  • The stipend is renewed annually as long as academic progress and references are satisfactory.
  • A discretionary childcare stipend may be offered under certain situations.
