This initiative, part of the broader Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program, aims to equip the next generation of African leaders with advanced technical, innovative, and entrepreneurial skills to drive positive change across the continent.
The program, running from 2025 to 2030, seeks to train 120 professionals in total. For the 2026/2027 academic year, 30 fully funded scholarships are available for a two-year, on-campus master’s degree in Phoenix, Arizona.

Comprehensive funding for a fully immersive experience

Eligibility requirements
Applicants must be citizens of an African country, between 18 and 33 years old by the deadline, and have completed an undergraduate degree by August 2026. They should demonstrate academic excellence, meet English language requirements, have a track record of ethical leadership and community engagement, and show financial need. A commitment to returning to their home country after graduation is required, as is the ability to live in Phoenix, Arizona, for the program duration. Applications are particularly encouraged from women, refugees, displaced persons, and people with disabilities.
How to apply
The application process starts with submitting the scholarship application form. Only shortlisted candidates will be invited to apply for admission to ASU and participate in a video or phone interview. Final decisions are expected by late February 2026, with the program beginning in August 2026.
