About: Africa Fellowship for Young Energy Leaders 2025
AFYEL is a six-month virtual program designed to train young people in Africa on clean and renewable energy. The goal is simple: help the next generation become energy experts capable of leading projects. Also, to develop new systems and ideas for bringing electricity to more homes and businesses. The program combines online learning with a hands-on internship. This mix allows fellows to gain knowledge and experience. And use what they’ve learned in real life.
Who can apply?

- You must come from any African country.
- Your age should fall between 21 and 35 years old.
- You must have a bachelor’s degree (any subject is acceptable, but the following are preferred: Engineering, Environmental Science, Energy Studies, and Economics.
- You can apply if you have experience in energy policy, finance, or project development.
- You should be able to read, write, and speak English well.
- Most importantly, you must be passionate about clean energy and eager to solve real-world problems in African communities.
